Banner brings in bumper hamper business!

Publish Date: 21 October 2011

With the traditionally busy pre-Christmas sales period getting off to a lacklustre start Stuart Mcloed, owner of Louth's speciality food and beverage store McLeod's decided he needed to catch shoppers' attention to his best selling hamper range.

Stuart explained "I knew I needed to do something proactive to attract the attention of passers by, not only at this peak Christmas period but also all year round. My hampers are created around the individual preferences of the customer and so are suitable for any time of year."

"I had already been working with local design and print company, Allinson Print who had created some leaflets for me and they suggested we use a canvas banner that would take advantage of the prominent and high traffic position of the store, right next to St James Church."

Allinson's Head Designer, Chris Hickson, designed an eye-catching banner promoting the hampers. He explained, " Banners are a simple and inexpensive option that we have used for many retail or leisure businesses. This one has had astonishing results in the short time it has been up"

Stuart McLeod added "People from as far a field as Leicester and Nottingham saw the banner whilst driving through Louth and rang to order their hampers for Christmas. Sales had peaked prior to Christmas 2008 and 2009 had looked like it would see a big fall. With the use of the banner, sales beat the previous record by over 50%."

"I am delighted with the result, and also with Allinson Print's design and production. I now have a proven way of target additional sales at selected times throughout the year at no extra cost". For more information visit
